MYOM ~ Chocolate Cake

For my son's birthday I made this HUGE volcano cake (please don't look to closely I am not a cake decorator)  for this cake it took 4 cake mixes and when I went to the store the mixes were really expensive this week.  On the back of my beloved Hershey's Cocoa powder is a recipe for "Perfectly" Chocolate Cake and perfect it is....super easy to make, much cheaper and so yummy.

Hershey's "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate Cake

2 cups sugar
1 3/4 c Hershey's cocoa
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup boiling water

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease and flour two 9 in round baking pans (or a 9x13" pan)
Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl
Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, beat on med speed 2 minutes. 
Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin)
Pour into pans.
Bake 30-35 minutes, or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. 
Cool, frost and enjoy!!

  1. Cool cake! You are so creative! Lucas had a dinosaur party and I just made cupcakes and stuck plastic dinosaurs on top.
